Zones
The 5700 VFA only sends search requests to zones that
are listed in the 5700 VFA Administrator, or “known” to
the 5700 VFA. The call is connected to the first zone
that sends a positive response (party found) to the 5700
VFA.

The 5700 VFA initially send search requests throughout
the connected network(s) using the Multicast method. If
this fails to find the target node, the 5700 VFA will then
send search requests to zones known to the 5700 VFA.

disconnected
nodes in other
zones
If a call is dialed to an 5700 VFA node that is currently
not logged in, the 5700 VFA continues to search for that
node in other known zones.

Select the maximum interval for the 5700 VFA to
receive a reply from the dialed destination's gatekeeper.
If this interval passes before the 5700 VFA receives this
reply, the call is disconnected.
